“We’re busy inputting our third book. We’re praying for a better success for A Colombian Harvest than for our first book. I was working fulltime then and really couldn’t keep up with marketing, etc. This time, I plan to pursue every possible lead to get our book out there and make it successful. Thanks, Outskirts!”

ian Harvest
Near the end of World War II, we find Texan Gerardo Montez, in the trenches of Germany where he meets a young Colombian who will become his lifelong friend and business partner, Hector Gonzalez de Garcia y Gomez. Gerardo and Hector find much in common in their shared Christian beliefs and outlook on life. The two men work hard and long as coffee growers while at the same time caring for their workers, their families and surrounding villagers. At times, Gerardo and Hector were the only buffer between the poor workers and the cartel that wanted the coffee growers off what they viewed as their exclusive property—the very land itself—and the workers. Over several decades the two families build a small empire of coffee growing and processing, medical clinics, and humanitarian services. But all this comes at a price. The factory is burned down before it is even completed. A hurricane takes her toll. Grizzly murders, including beheadings, are committed. The cartel uses every means at its disposal to rid themselves of these coffee growers. Hector is kidnapped early on; Gerardo’s two children are kidnapped. Hector’s daughter, Consuelo, a physician, is abducted by the cartel to tend to wounds of cartel members. Workers and villagers are stricken with a mysterious and deadly disease. How can the plantation and factory survive? How are Hector, Gerardo, their wives and their children, to survive?
