Outskirts Press Publishing Experience Review From: Kerry Hotaling, author of What They Endured, What They Wrought

“I tried another self-publishing firm before Outskirts and it did not go well. After studying the market, I chose Outskirts based on many positive recommendations. I have been very pleased with my experience with Outskirts Press. The finished product was better then I imagined. If I write another book, I will opt for Outskirts.”

Kerry Hotaling is a land surveyor and self-proclaimed Gettysburg junkie. He has surveyed countless acres in the Western Massachusetts area over the last 25 years. He has also coached high school soccer in Northern Connecticut and Western Massachusetts. He is a member of the Gettysburg Foundation and the Civil War Trust, and he has helped build historic fences on the Gettysburg battlefield since 2007, during the annual volunteer workday. He is married with children and resides in Western Massachusetts.

Many people who have spent time at the Gettysburg battlefield have felt a presence, a force that stirs within. Regimental monuments surround the visitor, and each monument has a unique story. Visitors feel a sense of awe at the number of men who fought here-not to conquer land, but to defeat an injustice. What They Endured; What They Wrought provides a brief history of some of these regiments and how they fared in the famous battle. Visitors of the Gettysburg battlefield-whether first-timers or seasoned sojourners-will find the book a useful reference to bring this period of history to life. The author will donate a dollar from each book sold to the Gettysburg Foundation to help preserve this national treasure.Outskirts Press Review
