Outskirts Press Publishing Experience Review From: Francis Ivey, author of Migrant Alaskan

“I never have published anything in my life. I went online looking for sources of help. I studied different publishing companies and with the little resources I had available, I thought Outskirts Press would give me the most bang for my buck. Outskirts has been a jewel. They explained the different procedures and let me make the choices that where best for me. Outskirts accepted the flavor of Migrant Alaskan and the colloquialism used in my book. They were patient with me then showed me options, which I am proud of the end result. I’m proceeding with a sequel to Migrant Alaskan and plan on using Outskirts Press’ guidance again.”

Francis Ivey was born in 1950 in Hereford,Texas. My mom is from Louisiana and my dad is from Mississippi. We traveled from oil-field to oil-field in all the states west of the Mississippi River. My final oil-field was in Alaska and that is home and where I live today.

Lessons I learned on Granddaddy’s porch. Many an hour I would spend in my Pirogue (Pero) with my dog, Stub, huntin nutria which I sold for 50 cents each. Granddaddy always said “You don’t know how to spend money if you don’t know how to earn it.”
