Rita Kroon has written articles of adventure on Minnesota’s North Shore for wildlife magazines, children’s short stories, devotionals, poetry, and her own humorous newspaper column “Rita Raps it Up.” Her book, “You have Cancer – a Journey through the Valley of the Shadow of Death” is scheduled to be released soon. It is her story of the battle with two different cancers and how she discovered that her faith in God during the calm seasons of life necessitated a mighty strengthening from God if it was to sustain her on the battlefield. She and her husband reside in Shoreview and have three married daughters and 16 grandchildren.
“I give lots of kudos to OP for their expertise in publishing and marketing, the quick response to my email inquiries, and the abundance of patience with me whenever I had questions – especially those regarding editing and pricing. With confidence, I have highly recommended OP to others who are just entering the self-publishing arena. My one and only negative comment is that OP adds a disclaimer in the author’s book: “The opinions expressed in this manuscript are solely the opinions of the author and do not represent the opinions or thoughts of the publisher.” As an author, I would like to feel like I’m part of the team and have the backing of my publisher. I think any potential buyer may hesitate in purchasing the book with such a disclaimer. I would like to think that OP publishes high quality writing and would refuse writing of a nature that would require such a disclaimer. Other than that one comment, hats off to Outskirts Press.”

Product description…
Letters from the Past
“Letters from the Past” traces the history and culture of the nation of Israel from the time they were first known as Hebrews to the time they became known as the people of Israel. It is history in the making as seen through the eyes of seven women of the Bible. In their conversational-style letters written to today’s modern woman, they reveal the emotional impact that infertility, rape, incest, betrayal and deception, and family dysfunction had on them. They share their love and jealousy, their challenges and victories, and their choices and consequences in a candid and unapologetic manner. Also vividly portrayed is the ever-present influence of women in the shaping of history, their being instrumental in the rescue of a people from slavery, and the delivering a nation from certain annihilation. Trial turns to triumph when the thread of God’s faithfulness is traced throughout ancient times to the twenty first century. Suddenly there is no distance in time, no generational gap, and no heart left unturned as you gain a new admiration for those who journeyed before us.Outskirts Press Review
